The Institute for Innovation and Implementation's model for Parent Peer Support Partners (PPSP) is based on the premise that PPSP enhances the High Fidelity Wraparound model. The PPSP curricula has been created around the same framework as the training for High Fidelity Wraparound Care Coordination staff and includes core and advanced skills training and activities across the phases and key elements of wraparound (6-8 days over 1 year) and includes practice improvement tools used in certification.
The Institute's model is to build local capacity by providing core and advanced training to large groups of PPSP while providing intensive coaching and certification to a smaller group of local PPSP Trainer/Coaches in each state or community. The local PPSP Trainer/Coaches are trained on High Fidelity Wraparound implementation with Care Coordination Staff and Local Trainer/Coaches and are expected to, once certified, assume training and coaching in their community or state. All local Trainer/Coaches trained by The Institute are connected to a larger national learning community.
